Weighted limits in an $$(\infty ,1)$$-category

چکیده
We introduce the notion of weighted limit in an arbitrary quasi-category, suitably generalizing ordinary limits a and classical category. This is accomplished by Joyal’s approach: we identify meaningful construction for quasi-category cones over diagram whose terminal object considered diagram. then show that each can be expressed as limit. Limits and colimits in the category of pre-directed complete pre-ordered sets
In this paper, some categorical properties of the category { Pre-Dcpo} of all pre-dcpos; pre-ordered sets which are also pre-directed complete, with pre-continuous maps between them is considered. In particular, we characterize products and coproducts in this category. Furthermore, we show that this category is neither complete nor cocomplete. Also, epimorphisms and monomorphisms in {Pre-Dcpo} ...
متن کاملWeighted Limits and Colimits
Assuming only a very rudimentary knowledge of enriched category theory — V-categories, V-functors, and V-natural transformations for a closed, symmetric monoidal, complete and cocomplete category V — we introduce weighted limits and colimits, the appropriate sort of limits for the enriched setting. This “modern” approach was introduced to the author through talks by Mike Shulman at the Category...
متن کاملAssociativity Data in an (∞, 1)-category
A popular slogan is that (∞, 1)-categories (also called quasi-categories or ∞categories) sit somewhere between categories and spaces, combining some of the features of both. The analogy with spaces is fairly clear, at least to someone who is happy to regard spaces as Kan complexes, which are simplicial sets in which every horn can be filled. The analogy with categories is somewhat more subtle. ...
متن کاملSorting Under 1-$\infty$ Cost Model
In this paper we study the problem of sorting under nonuniform comparison costs, where costs are either 1 or ∞. If comparing a pair has an associated cost of ∞ then we say that such a pair cannot be compared (forbidden pairs). Along with the set of elements V (n = |V |) the input to our problem is a graph G(V,E), whose edges represents the pairs that we can compare incurring unit cost. We let E...
متن کاملInjectivity in a category: an overview on smallness conditions
Some of the so called smallness conditions in algebra as well as in category theory, are important and interesting for their own and also tightly related to injectivity, are essential boundedness, cogenerating set, and residual smallness. In this overview paper, we first try to refresh these smallness condition by giving the detailed proofs of the results mainly by Bernhard Banaschewski and W...
